Courtney is Certified in Level I, II & III of Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method.
Somatic Voicework™ the LoVetri Method is a body-based method of training founded on cogent voice science and medicine, alongside traditional classical vocal training and complementary modalities such as yoga, movement, dance, acting, and speech training, and various bodywork approaches.
Developed by Jeannette LoVetri, one of the world's most recognised singing teachers and foremost CCM experts, Somatic Voicework™ aims to unselfconsciously draw the mind of the singer into the physical process of making sound, encouraging the voice and body to partner and allow the vocal instrument to handle a variety of tasks with greater ease and less effort. Somatic Voicework™ exercises are focused on function, concerned with what the voice is doing, not just how the voice sounds.
Using principles of Somatic Voicework™ , Courtney tailors a course of study that serves each of her student's unique needs. Students are guided through a variety of age-appropriate and functional exercises, ensuring comfortable and healthy singing throughout their entire range, making a variety of sounds, and enabling expressive singing across all CCM styles of performance.
Other topics of focus include: vocal health, practice technique, mic technique, music theory, music history, improvisation, ensemble performance skills and performance confidence.
Courtney has a passion for making singing accessible and fun, and her encouraging approach ensures that each lesson is an uplifting experience, where students can feel safe, supported and valued.
