Courtney is Certified in Level I, II & III of Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method. Somatic Voicework™  is a body-based method of vocal training that draws from many disciplines. It is based upon voice science and medicine as well as traditional classical vocal training, complementary modalities such as yoga, movement, dance, acting, and speech training, and various bodywork approaches. The aim of Somatic Voicework™ is to unselfconsciously draw the mind of the singer into the physical process of making sound.

Somatic Voicework™  allows the voice and body to be partners with the mind, allowing the instrument to handle a variety of tasks with greater ease and less effort. In addition to all of the above, Somatic Voicework™ is unique in that all of the vocal exercises are focused on function. It is based upon what the voice is doing, not just how the voice sounds.

Using principles of Somatic Voicework™ , Courtney tailors a course of study that serves each of her student's unique needs. Students are guided through a variety of functional exercises, ensuring comfortable singing throughout their entire range, making a variety of sounds, and enabling expressive singing across all CCM styles of performance.

Other topics of focus include: vocal health, practice technique, mic technique, music theory, style/composer/artist history, improvisation, ensemble performance skills and performance confidence.

You're never too young to start singing, and for this reason, young children (under 8 years) are are also embraced at the studio. Courtney has a passion for making singing accessible and fun, and incorporates a number of age-appropriate songs, activities and resources in each lesson; opening up a world of exploration for voice and body together.

Her encouraging approach ensures that each lesson is an uplifting experience, where students can feel safe, supported and valued.
